Day 1
Do you know the name of a poor person?
Day 2
List the top three things that most distract you from the things God has put in your heart.
1. Commitment of time to family and job (?)
2. laziness
3. doubt
Personal response: "...where can you improve based on what we've learned today?"
1 Peter 5:2-3 "Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, ser"ving as overseers...not greedy for money, but eager to serve...." got me there....eagerness has not been in my top ten lately.
Loved the verse: I Peter 5:4 "And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away."
Day 3
"Determining what we should say yes to and what we need to say no to is often one of the hardest things to discern, especially since inexhaustible needs and opportunities surround us-needs that frequently fall into noble and worthwhile categories."
Is the Lord asking you to say no to something so that you can focus on what He's asked you to say yes to? If so, what?
Yes, this happens frequently when I make the time to listen to Him!
Confession is an important part of undoing the lies we believe... (pg 76.), yup!
Day 4
Nehemiah 6:1...the wall is almost complete and Nehemiah's enemies attempt to derail him again.
"God stands to accomplish the impossible through us while too often we're content to settle for the explainable. The impossible requires taking time to listen for what He has put in our heart to do."
Day 5
The wall is complete, but the city is lacking people.

The wall is complete, but the city is lacking people.
"How easily I can put the ministry of people above the people themselves....If I've lost sight of the people for whom I spend myself, I have entirely missed the heart of why I do what I do."
