Session 3 - A City Needs People

Day 1 Do you know the name of a poor person? Day 2 List the top three things that most distract you from the things God has put in your heart. 1. Commitment of time to family and job (?) 2.  laziness 3.  doubt Personal response: "...where can you improve based on what we've learned today?" 1 Peter 5:2-3 "Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, ser"ving as overseers...not greedy for money, but eager to serve ...."   got me there....eagerness has not been in my top ten lately. Day 1: "He would have lost this [initiative]  if he had been exposing half-formed ideas piecemeal to every acquaintance." Ben and I have found this to be true because then your ideas turn more into talk than passionate action.  "Sometimes God drops a dream in our hearts that we must pray over and develop, that we must cultivate by his word and direction before we share it with others."// "I can be a glutton for immediate feedback and other people's reactions." Often times I throw out an idea because I want to hear what other people think of it. If they think it's dumb or don't have much of a reaction to it, I'll often dismiss the idea.
